The Song of the Rose Fairy ... "words can never, never tell half the beauty of the Rose ..." Fold on fold of lovely pink, a fairy holds fast and delights in the deep, sweet scents of a blooming rose. Every piece of this fine porcelain set has the Rose Fairy image and each item has scalloped edges trimmed in gold. The set includes teapot, creamer, sugar bowl, and two cups, saucers and dessert plates. There are also two white lace trimmed napkins, two sets of silverware, and a white lace trimmed tablecloth. A pink carrying case, lined with tiny rosebud wallpaper makes a perfect storage bin for this collectible tea set! A licensed reproduction of the beautiful artistry of Cicely Mary Barker's drawings shows the exquisite detail of her work. English born Ms. Barker was a poet as well as an artist. She learned how to draw and paint flowers adorned with small creatures known as Flower Fairies. We think this set is appropriate for children 3-8 years old. All surfaces are finished so the set is safe to use with food. The German firm, Reutter Porcelain Company, has gained an international reputation for fine quality children's tea sets. During their manufacture, these porcelain miniatures pass through the hands of as many as 17 skilled craftsmen. After casting, they are glazed, painted and then fired as many as three times to give them their characteristic Reutter look.
